Hmmm… I’m going to be hoovered…

Ok this isn’t quite as bad as it sounds … in fact this could be a good thing

I’m going to have a V.A.C.^® Therapy Unit fitted later today, which removes fluids and infectious materials, helps protect the wound environment, helps promote perfusion and a moist healing environment and helps draw together wound edges. all in all a good thing … I think

The system looks good and everyone I have spoken to about it (including a couple of people who are currently hooked up to it) are saying good things … but as with most things medical, theres a lot of scary information out there … or maybe I’m just to good at finding it … not sure which it is to be truthful…

but I have found this makers site which has some good information about the system on it … (just in case you’re interested) http://www.kci1.com/82.asp and as always theres some that are complaining it doesn’t work (how they want) but a quick look at Wikipedia give us some good info as well … http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Negative_Pressure_Wound_Therapy
